Leave a gift in your Will

Create a legacy for the house.

A thoughtful gift can help preserve an irreplaceable part of Marlborough’s history.

A lasting gift

Help protect the house for future generations.

A gift in your Will can support the long-term conservation of the building, collections, archives and garden.

After providing for the people closest to you, a charitable gift of any size can become part of the house’s continuing story. Gifts may be unrestricted, allowing the Trust to use them where the need is greatest, or discussed with the Trust in advance when a particular area matters to you.

Common ways to leave a gift

Residuary gift

A percentage of what remains in your estate after other gifts and costs.

Pecuniary gift

A fixed sum of money named in your Will.

Specific gift

An item, collection or asset offered for an agreed charitable purpose.

Speak to a professional adviser

The Trust cannot provide legal or financial advice. A solicitor can help ensure your wishes are clear and your Will is valid. When naming the charity, use The Merchant’s House (Marlborough) Trust, registered charity 1010902, 132 High Street, Marlborough, Wiltshire, SN8 1HN.
