Trustees
A volunteer board holds responsibility for strategy, stewardship and the charity’s objectives.

The Trust
The charity brings together trustees, staff, volunteers, members, donors and visitors to conserve the house and keep its stories alive.
Our purpose
The Trust cares for a Grade II* historic building, its collections and archives, while sharing the site with the widest possible audience.
Day-to-day work combines building conservation, fundraising, visitor experience, education, events, retail, research and community relationships. A volunteer board provides governance, supported by a small professional team and a much larger volunteer community.

How we work
Everyone contributes a different form of expertise—from conservation and finance to guiding, gardening, archives, retail and event delivery.
People
Governance and delivery are organised around the needs of the building, collections, visitors and long-term resilience.
A volunteer board holds responsibility for strategy, stewardship and the charity’s objectives.
A compact professional team coordinates operations, retail, events, fundraising and administration.
Volunteers are the energy behind welcoming, guiding, gardening, research, events and practical care.
