The Trust

A shared commitment to a remarkable place.

The charity brings together trustees, staff, volunteers, members, donors and visitors to conserve the house and keep its stories alive.

Our purpose

Conserve, research, welcome and inspire.

The Trust cares for a Grade II* historic building, its collections and archives, while sharing the site with the widest possible audience.

Day-to-day work combines building conservation, fundraising, visitor experience, education, events, retail, research and community relationships. A volunteer board provides governance, supported by a small professional team and a much larger volunteer community.
